- EYE CARE, MIT Health , assists the Optometrists and Ophthalmologists (Eye Care Providers) in obtaining clinical information from patients; performs diagnostic tests; assists with contact lens fittings and conducts patient training in insertion, removal, wearing schedule, disinfection and proper care of contact lenses; performs other tasks as specified by the ECP in providing complete and comprehensive eye care;maintains the contact lens inventory, re -ordering as supplies are required; and is responsible for ordering routine office equipment and supplies as necessary. When needed, the Optometric Technician assists the patient services representative with administrative duties. The full job description is available here: https://health.mit.edu/jobs REQUIRED : High School diploma or equivalent; a minimum of two years of experience in eye care; a current active BLS certification (with in-person component); ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment; prolonged standing and walking; good interpersonal, and diplomacy skills; professional manner with solid customer service skills; accuracy and attention to detail; proficiency in basic computer functions; and ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
