The department is notably woman-led and achieved groundbreaking advancements like the first fully in-house 3D surgical case at Yale New Haven Hospital. The School of Medicine has pioneered global health initiatives, including donor-funded rotations in South Africa and Tanzania, and established the world’s first master’s program in personalized medicine and applied engineering. Faculty and trainees have published over 2,750 research articles and contributed to innovative treatments, such as a novel hip preservation technique and targeted osteoarthritis therapies. Yale Orthopaedics has earned recognition for its adult reconstruction fellowship and a new residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

Yale University Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-eligible/board-certified Orthopaedic Oncologist to join our esteemed faculty at the assistant or associate professor rank. This full-time academic position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading academic medical center renowned for its excellence in patient care, research, and education. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to providing cutting-edge care for patients with musculoskeletal tumors and related conditions. This role emphasizes strong clinical skills, a commitment to resident education within the Yale School of Medicine, and an active pursuit of scholarly activity, including clinical and/or basic science research. The position provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources, fostering collaboration with specialists across various disciplines within the Yale New Haven Health System, a Level 1 Trauma center. 

We seek a candidate with exceptional patient care abilities, a passion for teaching, and a strong desire to advance the field of orthopaedic oncology through innovative research. The candidate will be expected to develop a practice that is oncology-focused with a second area of interest/expertise as well. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible Orthopaedic surgeons with fellowship training in Orthopaedic Oncology, preferably with a second fellowship or at least interest and training in another area of orthopaedic surgery.
