Your opportunity:
Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC) is a hub for academic skills development on the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. The mandate of the RGASC is to support and promote teaching and learning in a range of contexts across the University of Toronto Mississauga.
The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator works in a collaborative environment with the RGACS Director, staff and instructors to support and promote Centre programming and workshops.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Consulting with instructors, administrators and student groups on the development of tailored programming needs
- Analyzing internal and external trends and recommending educational programming improvements
- Analyzing processes and recommending changes for more efficient coordination of operations
- Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives
- Coordinating the recruitment of teaching assistants, course instructors, sessional lecturers and/or stipend instructors
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the area of co-curricular program planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Strong project management/administrative experience with demonstrated decision-making skills, detailed planning and ownership of programs/projects.
- Strong numeric, research, and analytical skills with an ability to analyze data sets, identify trends in the data, develop new metrics and make recommendations based on data-driven insights that will support and inform enrollment, engagement and program strategies.
- Experience conducting post-event evaluation and analysis (i.e. designing, disseminating, collecting surveys and questionnaires).
- Experience developing and delivering high-quality student academic programming, interpreting and applying University and program policies and procedures required.
- Highly resourceful with strong investigative, organizational, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a broad perspective; strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with all levels of faculty, staff, and senior administration.
- Advance Knowledge of MS Office, learning management systems (i.e. Quercus) and file management systems (i.e. SharePoint).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across a large team in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Must be able to multi-task, manage, prepare, and deliver multiple programs with sound judgment, calm demeanor and professionalism.
- Experience recruiting and supervising work study or casual staff.
- Experience dealing with a diverse student and instructor population.
