Southwestern College is looking to hire a part-time instructor to teach Chemistry via the in-person modality, including Introductory Chemistry, Organic and Biochemistry for allied health majors, and Preparatory, General, Organic, and Analytical Chemistry for science majors. Classes are offered at multiple campuses and in various modalities, but we are currently seeking in-person instructors.

Qualifications: Masters Degree in Chemistry OR a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry AND a Masters Degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics, Physics, Molecular Biology, or Geochemistry, OR the equivalent OR a valid California Community College Instructor Credential in Chemistry. Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees; coursework must be evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and a copy of the evaluation must be submitted with the application.

Application Process: A confirmation email will be sent once your application packet has been successfully submitted. A separate, complete application packet is required for each position. All materials become SWCCD property and will be considered for this opening only. A screening committee will evaluate applicants and selected applicants will be invited for an interview. Interview travel costs must be borne by the applicant. If additional positions become available, applications may be considered for up to 90 days after final board approval. Candidates selected for employment must be fingerprinted, provide tuberculosis clearance, and proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Successful candidates may be assigned to any campus site.
