SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York. The College has over 7,700 students annually, and services over 6,100 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs. An additional 1,600 students are served through the College's workforce and non-credit programs.

Job Description:

SUNY Broome Community College invites applications for qualified nursing candidates to teach as part-time adjunct instructors within the Nursing Department.

Adjunct instructors have the opportunity to teach in a variety of clinical settings and nursing courses; opportunities vary by semester and include six (6), seven and a half (7.5), and twelve (12) hour per day positions in either the weekday or evening-weekend programs. Currently, there is a need for instructors in specialty areas of maternal-newborn and psychiatric settings.

The Adjunct Clinical Nursing Faculty member, following nursing program guidelines and standards, will instruct, supervise, and evaluate the student's performance of nursing activities to assure safe practice in clinical settings. Adjunct Faculty will collaborate with full time faculty to review student progress in meeting clinical objectives and provide direct, timely, and constructive feedback to the students regarding clinical performance.

Requirements:

• A Master's Degree in nursing is required or candidate must be currently enrolled in a Master's Degree in nursing program; these are state and accreditation requirements.
• New York State Registered Nursing license required with recent clinical experience preferred.
• Applicants should be comfortable in the learner-centered classroom and have a strong commitment to the community college mission.
