Department Information

We prepare teachers at all career stages to meet students' intellectual and social-emotional needs in developmentally appropriate ways. Our department is nationally recognized for work in Curriculum and Instruction; Middle Grades and Secondary Education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We have the largest doctoral enrollment in Bagwell.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in education, or doing education supervision

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

To teach undergraduate courses or perform education supervision:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Education or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

To teach graduate courses:

  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Education or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid teaching license
  • Prior and/or current teaching in K-12 setting
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
