"Part-Time Architecture Instructor"

Description

Southwestern College is looking to hire a Part-Time Architecture Instructor to teach LA 200: Intro to Computer-Aided Landscape Design. This course provides instruction in AutoCAD as applied to landscape architecture. Students will create landscape plans, sprinkler layouts, and 3D design elements using drawing, editing, layer, dimension, and printing commands.

Class modality is face-to-face and includes lectures and lab.

Qualifications

Any Associates Degree with six (6) years of directly related occupational experience.
**OR**
Any Bachelors Degree (or higher) with two (2) years of directly related occupational experience.

Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States. Applicants must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and must submit a copy of the evaluation with the application.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience in landscape design, drafting, or CAD-based design.
• Experience using CAD for sprinkler/Irrigation plans.
• Experience teaching adults OR training employees/clients in software.
• Industry certifications: landscape architecture, landscape design, irrigation, CAD/drafting, etc.

Successful candidate selected may be assigned to any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, Crown Cove, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro).
