Summary of Job Duties:Responsible for assisting the head coach in the management and administration of an effective and efficient baseball program. The position reports to the Head Baseball Coach.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include the following:

Bachelor’s Degree
Verifiable experience coaching baseball.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides leadership including recruitment, player development, and social development of student-athletes. Assist in the management of the program budget. Prepare and conduct practice sessions. Assist in game day operations. Assist in travel and scheduling. Field operations.

Create fitness and conditioning programing. Monitors academic progress toward degree of student-athletes in conjunction with the compliance office. Ability to guide athletes toward successful completion of an undergraduate degree while participating in intercollegiate athletics.

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork.
Requires consistent on-time attendance.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

Knowledge of all aspects of the game of baseball.
Familiarity with university policies regarding athletics, Division II baseball programs, MIAA Conference rules, and NCAA legislation and regulations

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an outdoor setting. Frequent travel and extended hours required. Coaches may be called upon to assist with fundraising for the athletic department and to provide staff support to the other sports programs during their respective seasons. Valid driver’s license required.
