Part-Time Clerk, TRIO Upward Bound

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process all necessary program paperwork and electronic records, including but not limited to: contracts, purchase orders, student hours and stipend reports, applications, travel forms, brochures/flyers, and certificates.
• Assist in executing correspondence from the Upward Bound program to students, parents, schools, etc.; proofread and edit documents.
• Maintain the program database (Blumen), including student information/records and data relevant to external agencies.
• Assist the director with preparing the Annual Performance Report.
• Assist with the hiring and supervision of summer assistants and academic year work-study office assistants.
• Assist with the planning and facilitation of the summer program, including but not limited to:
  • Processing hiring paperwork;
  • Processing applications;
  • Reserving rooms and copying and collating handouts for orientations, trainings, and classes;
  • Coordinating campus logistics for the residential stay;
  • Reserving buses for activities during residential component (M-F and weekends).
• Chaperone college tours and cultural activities as needed.
• Attend all staff meetings, and prepare/distribute meeting notes as grant documentation.
• Maintain and organize program paper and electronic files and program supplies.
• Post updates/content to the program's social media accounts.
• Maintain and expand positive working relationships with UB students.
• Maintain and expand positive working relationships with NSCC staff and departments that collaborate with the Upward Bound Program.
• Attend professional development.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree, or two years of related work experience, required.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and data entry required; Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Sheets.
• Strong computer skills, comfort with technology, and demonstrated accuracy with data entry.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, preferable in a multicultural work setting.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with students and outside agencies to resolve problems.
• Ability to occasionally travel between campuses as necessary.
• Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.
