Job Description
Function of Position: The SRDGM part-time Data Assistant supports the Director and the SRDGM team with their submission and management of the College's Perkins V grant for Career & Technical Education and other departmental and college-wide data tracking as it relates to grants. This position works approximately 7 hours per week on the Perkins project and approximately 7 hours per week on other SRDGM data tracking. Hours may vary by project demands.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides technical support for Perkins' grant applications, management and required reporting
- Collects data for Perkins' grant reporting and evaluation purposes from MCC's Institutional Research; Argos; NYSED; SUNY; AI; and other resources
- Creates and inputs data in Excel spreadsheets. Evaluates data using Excel functions including PivotTables
- Uses Microsoft 365 to create, distribute, collect and evaluate surveys and forms
- Tabulates monthly reports from Perkins Specialists to track their student coaching, recruitment and other activities
- Collects signatures as needed from administrators at Downtown and Brighton campuses
- Proofreads typewritten materials for sense, consistency and quality, as well as for spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Updates and maintains member lists for MCC Perkins grant's Local Advisory Council.
- Assists the Director and the Grant Manager to plan, schedule, and coordinate twice-yearly in-person and Zoom meetings of the Perkins Local Advisory Council. Distributes meeting agendas, takes and distributes minutes
- Establishes and maintains confidential Perkins files
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat desirable
- Other Perkins-related projects as assigned
- Provides grant processing support that includes entering grant information into databases
- Provides technical support to department members for grant applications such as drafting and coordinating Letters of Support, table of contents, organizing attachments.
- Assists Director with Institutional Review Board administration.
- Helps to facilitate MCC's internal controls process with securing signatures on transmittal forms, grant award agreements, no cost extensions
- Uses Banner Finance to confirm grant and department budget balances
- Occasionally monitors Grants email Inbox for HRAs and Dynamic Forms
- Assists the department in planning and coordinating workshops and special events
- Other department duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Earned Associate's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
- Experience with SUNY operational and academic processes.
- Proficient in Banner and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of career and technical education programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in working with grants and/or grant reporting
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information
Salary: $22/hourly
Schedule: 14 hours a week, determined by department.

This position involves primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods of computer use and keyboarding. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Occasional travel between campus buildings or to other local or out-of-town locations for meetings or conferences may be required.

In limited circumstances, prompted by business or operational needs, the College may approve requests to work remotely outside of New York State, on a short-term, temporary basis.
