Reports To: Director, Student Financial Wellness and Financial Aid
LOCATION: Green Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 10 hours per week
PAY: $15.00 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Inc., is a nonprofit organization that inspires and prepares young people to succeed. Inspiration comes from community volunteers who not only deliver JA lessons but also share their experience and serve as role models, helping to positively impact young people’s perceptions about the importance of education and critical life skills.
Junior Achievement is seeking a part time Development Assistant to help with Junior Achievement of Wisconsin – NE Region’s campaign, marketing, and sponsored event initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Campaigns/Stewardship
- Create donor’s choice lists as well as company match list in coordination with Development Coordinator.
- Prospect list: add chambers, designated groups, industry organizations (Staffing Agencies, Service Clubs)
- Find organizations to recognize for their accomplishment (with handwritten card).
Sponsored Events
- Help to maintain detailed planning, student and volunteer documents
- Assist in managing RSVP lists, guest registration, and recruiting communications
- Assist in tracking budgets, expenses, and invoices related to events
- Attendance at events
Marketing
- Assist Digital Marketing Specialist with content research and asset organization.
- Multi-platform content calendar management for the NE Region
- Assist in seeking in-kind donations with direction from the team as needed
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Associate degree or current study in the field of marketing, business administration, or related field.
Other Requirements
- Must be a current NWTC student
- Must be eligible for work-study
- Passion for advancing JA’s mission.
- Excellent customer relations and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven knowledge of English grammar, letter writing, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and perform well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of philanthropy is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described below represent the general requirements necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Extended Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or attending meetings
- Mobility: Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events
- Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, or controls.
- Visual and Auditory: Ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Light Lifting: Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
