Part-time Digital Media Arts Professor - Continuous Pool

Clark College is currently seeking to fill a part-time Digital Media Arts Professor position. The courses taught may include video and audio production, motion graphics and animation, and computer graphics, using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator. Courses may be conducted in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and remote/online instruction.
The Digital Media Arts program is currently undergoing a significant curriculum revision, including the launch of new and revised coursework beginning Fall 2026. As part of this transition, the department is seeking to expand its pool of qualified adjunct faculty to support new and evolving courses, particularly in Adobe CC Software.
This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach daytime and evening hours as program needs arise. Adjunct faculty may teach no more than five (5) courses per academic year.
Positions may begin as early as Fall Quarter 2026.

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
- Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department meetings.
- Keep current with digital media arts industry best practices and technical skills.
- Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques, including participation in Clark eLearning training courses.
- Work effectively with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
- Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and teach courses in a student-centered manner, focusing on course- and program-level learning outcomes.
- Prepare a course syllabus including course requirements, attendance expectations, grading criteria, and appropriate college policies.
- Assess student performance promptly and regularly throughout the term.
- Communicate effectively with students via email and through Canvas.
- Attend at least three department and advisory meetings per academic year.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Film, Video, Digital Media Arts, Multimedia, or a closely related fieldOR a Certificate or Associate Degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Teaching experience in a college or university environment.
- Experience in course development, including creating course objectives and assignments.
- Experience teaching in various modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, Zoom, and/or online instruction.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative team.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
