Part-Time Environmental Educator Instructor - Rock Eagle 4-H Center
Position Summary
This job is a permanent, part time, non-benefited position as an Environmental Educator at Rock Eagle 4-H Center located in Eatonton, Georgia. The primary responsibility is to independently lead K-12 grade students through multidisciplinary classes in an outdoor setting. Class subjects offered include life and earth science, ecology, and herpetology. Other responsibilities include animal care, maintenance of teaching areas and resources, facilities, grounds, and support of general operations of the facility. Lifeguard as needed. Certified lifeguard and first aid training through American Red Cross – not required, will provide training.
Duties/Responsibilities
Independently lead K-12 grade students through multidisciplinary classes in an outdoor setting for 1-2 or 3-day field studies. Class subjects offered include both life and earth science, survival skills, team building, high-and low-ropes challenges, and pioneer living skills. Teaches classes, and implements new, innovative, academic, and research based curriculum and classes in keeping with state and national standards. (65%)
Maintenance and cleanup of facilities and grounds. General support of overall center operations: Office and reception work, Scheduling school and conference group visits, Helping to maintain the master calendar for the 4-H Center, Conference group support, On-call duties, Light maintenance projects, Canteen operations. (25%)
Animal care and maintenance of teaching areas including the herpetology lab. (10%)
