"Part Time Faculty, Anthropology"

The Department of Anthropology within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University invites expressions of interest in part-time faculty teaching opportunities for the 2025-2026 academic year. Such opportunities may or may not be available at any given time, and this application process is used to generate a pool of potential applicants for use when a position becomes available. We do hire part-time faculty regularly, and applicants with expertise that matches our needs will be contacted for an interview. We are a department committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and we welcome the unique contributions that each of our faculty, staff, and students bring to our community. Applicants should be at the ABD stage of their doctoral program or hold a PhD in Anthropology (preferred), and have a demonstrated record of effective teaching at the university level. We are particularly interested in candidates who are comfortable teaching anthropology in general education programs to non-major audiences as well as engaging a diverse student population. Upon hiring we will work with selected individuals to determine a mutually agreeable schedule on a quarter by quarter basis. Courses are not guaranteed; however the Department does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations.

Qualifications: More than one year teaching experience at the collegiate level. Have an ABD or a PhD in Anthropology with PhD preferred. The candidate must have demonstrated experience in working in teaching in a diverse learning environment.
