Part-Time Faculty: ENG 420 Cultural Production and Reception (Fall 2025/Spring 2026)
Job Description: Fall 2025 ENG 420 M001 Cultural Production and Reception (3 credits) starting August 18, 2025. Spring 2026 ENG 420 M002 Cultural Production and Reception (3 credits) starting January 12, 2026. These are in-person classes held on the SU main campus.
Course Description: Historical study of how the production and reception of cultural texts influence their interpretation.
Qualifications: PhD in English with a concentration on Film Studies preferred.
Responsibilities: Develop and/or update a class syllabus; Order appropriate books and materials in advance; Prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments; Maintain regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week; Present instruction based on competencies and performance levels; Meet all designated class periods and notify the department if unable; Work with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes; Submit completed final grades; Grade assignments and exams timely; Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for student evaluations; Complete all other course-related duties as per department policies.
Pay Range: $1,440 to $1,800 per credit hour.
