"Part-Time Faculty: PSY 252 Statistical Methods II (Fall 2025)"

Job Description

The Department of Psychology is seeking a part-time instructor to teach PSY 252 Statistical Methods II during the Fall 2025 semester beginning August 25, 2025 (3 credits).

Course description: Distributions, graphs, exploratory data analysis, and descriptive statistics, sampling and experiments. Sampling distributions. Correlation and regression. Confidence intervals and significance tests for measured data and count data. Computer applications.

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department. This position is contingent on funding availability and enrollment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or working towards a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
• Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
• Preparing lectures, projects or other student assignments.
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
• Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
• Meeting all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet with your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair or their designated contact of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
• Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
• Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations.
• Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
• Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
• Completing all other course-related duties as outlined by your departments policies for part-time instructors.
