Part-Time Instructor, Machining - FY 2026
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
Responsibilities:
- Lecture and/or Lab instruction for Machine Tool Technology (MTT) courses covering topics such as: Metrology, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Machining, CNC Milling and Turning (Lathe), CADD and Additive or Subtractive Manufacturing.
- Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions.
- Develop syllabi and course materials. Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives.
- Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
- Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
- Provide advisement to students.
- Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Machining or related engineering field, OR 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years work experience in Machining and/or Manufacturing or Industrial Technologies.
- 2 years experience teaching in Career and Technical Education.
- Leadership/Management Experience.
- Experience teaching online/hybrid classes, Canvas.
- Experience creating college curriculum.
- Experience developing an industrial lab in a college setting, such as a Machining, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Technologies.
- Experience working in diverse multicultural situations.
- Community college or technical school teaching experience.
- Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Computer literate in MS Office.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Industrial Certifications such as NIMS, NC3.
Schedule:
MTT courses will be primarily taught at the CSN Henderson Campus, and the City of Henderson Debra March Center of Excellence, in-person and may be scheduled during the day, evenings, and/or weekends.
Salary:
$925.00 per credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
