Part Time Instructor - Student Teaching Supervisor
Job Description
Nevada State University actively maintains an open pool of qualified individuals to be selected on an as-needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in-person student teaching supervision.
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Courses range from 1-6 credits.
Core Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the quality of the placement experience for the student teacher.
- Visit the student teacher the equivalency of eight times.
- Establish a cooperative relationship and regular communication with district teacher.
- Serve as the official liaison between the district school and Nevada State University School of Education.
- Complete a mid-term and final evaluations.
- Attend specific seminar classes.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in teaching area.
- Minimum of three (3) years full-time experience teaching children in K-12.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
- Commitment to active learning and teaching strategies.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
