Position: Part-time Research Assistant

Job Duties

The part-time RA will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) to conduct research project entitled “Efficacy of a mindfulness-based intervention with and without virtual reality support to promote mental health through self-compassion and mind wandering among university students: A randomised controlled trial (URG/24/07)”, which is funded by the Hong Kong Shue Yan University’s University Research Fund.

Major Responsibilities

• Collecting, entering, processing, and analysing data

• Liaising with different parties for data collection

• Assist in group sessions

• Perform other research and administrative duties as assigned by the PI to support the operation of the research project

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or related disciplines

• Preferably with both qualitative and quantitative research experience

• Preferably with experience in mindfulness and/or facilitating group sessions

• Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese

• Mature, self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of meeting tight deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications and SPSS

The appointment commences as soon as possible to 30 June 2026. The remuneration package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
