Part-time Staff: Clinical Supervisor (Spring 2026)
Job Summary
POOL POSITION

Incumbent provides nursing students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and practice the skills identified in the course objectives, using varied teaching methods.
This position requires employees to participate and/or sustain the following upon employment:
- Maintain core clinical nurse educator compliance per requirements of the citywide MOKAN Clinical Orientation Manual (COM)
- Maintain annual MCC organizational compliance as assigned by the District
- Attend the two-day Clinical Faculty Academy within first year of hire
- Attend clinical orientation shadow day for course
- Attend required Course clinical orientation day on campus
- Complete hospital (clinical facility) and unit onboarding/orientation, computer training, and site-specific compliance requirements.
Essential Functions
- Supervise nursing students in a clinical environment
- Evaluates the clinical performance of the student and the grading of all clinical assignments
- Oversee and provide students with instruction in their designated clinical specialty
- Keeps accurate clinical records of student’s performance, attendance, and behavior each week
- Provides weekly verbal and written feedback to students about their clinical performance
- Responsible for completing final clinical evaluation of students overall clinical performance
- Maintains open communication with the course faculty throughout the clinical rotation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) (2) two year certification for healthcare provider
- Current active unrestricted licensure for professional nursing in Missouri
- Hold a registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas OR a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- No disciplinary actions in any jurisdiction
- Three (3) years or more of recent experience in nursing clinical or classroom teaching (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Specialty Nursing Course Practice Requirements:
- Obstetrics (OB)
Minimum of three (3) years or more of recent acute clinical experience in OB - Pediatrics (PED)
Minimum of three (3) years or more of recent acute clinical experience in PED - Medical-Surgical and Medical Humanities (MH)
Minimum of three (3) years or more of recent acute clinical experience in medical and/or surgical

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Have an interest in working in an academic setting and with MCC students
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence in the desired tutoring subject matter
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
