Part-Time Staff: WED College for Kids Assistant
Job Summary
Incumbents assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging classroom instruction, managing student behavior, supervising activities, and facilitating communication between students, parents, and staff.
Essential Functions
- Support Classroom Instruction: Assist lead teacher in delivering lessons and facilitating classroom activities, ensuring that students understand the material and stay engaged.
- Assisting with Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive learning environment by managing student behavior, encouraging participation and addressing any disruptions constructively.
- Facilitating Communication: Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and teachers, communicating important information regarding student progress, behavior and any concerns that may arise.
- Supervising Students: Supervise Students, ensuring their safety and engagement during activities.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR equivalent G.E.D.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional applicant qualifications and experience will be taken into consideration.
- Interest in outreach and education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with microscope use and care.
- Thorough understanding of hematology with the capacity to explain blood cell types and functions.
- Thorough understanding of veterinary endoparasites and ectoparasites with the capacity to explain parasite consequences, life cycles, treatments.
- Thorough understanding of necropsy techniques as well as rat anatomy and physiology.
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
