Job Description
The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri is seeking a Patient Account Representative to provide essential administrative support to our Audiology Clinic. This role involves a range of clerical tasks focused on organization, coordination, and communication, ensuring efficient operation and exceptional patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
- Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries, walk-in audiology patients, and minor hearing aid repairs.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling appointments, and collection of payments and copays.
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate areas as needed.
Correspondence Coordination:
- Manage program correspondence, including mailing reports and letters to patients.
Data Management:
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate patient information in charts.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive materials.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Audiology Manager to support the efficient operation of the Audiology Clinic.
Qualification Preferences:
- Experience in a healthcare administrative role or similar field is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
Shift
8am – 5pm, Monday - Friday
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Two (2) years of clerical experience; education may be used in lieu of experience.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $16.68 - $21.42 hourly
Grade: PAT-005
