Patient Navigator (Hybrid) - Medical Oncology
Position Summary
Provides individual attention to each patient and needed support by navigating patients through the complexities of the screening, diagnostic, treatment, and maintenance care continuums.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serves as a resource to assist patients and family navigate care continuum, barriers to care, and identifies resources/interventions related to social determinants of health (SDOH).
- Tracks interventions and outcomes.
- Completes and processes all necessary paperwork and documentation to enroll patients in appropriate programs.
- Facilitates communication and education with heath care staff and providers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Direct patient care setting.
Physical Effort: Typically sitting at desk or table. Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement. Ability to move to on and off-campus locations. Occasional lifting (<25 lbs.).
Equipment: Office equipment.

Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications: Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Leadership in Oncology Navigation - American Cancer Society
Work Experience: Relevant Experience (3 Years)
Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date. Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements). Oncology Patient Navigator Training: The Fundamentals from George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences within 45 days of hire. Leadership in Oncology Navigation American Cancer Society within six months of hire.

Salary Range
$19.21 - $28.85 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
