The Simulation Technician provides technical and administrative support to the simulation program. The Technician will have a solid background in the operation, programming, repair and maintenance of all patient simulation equipment and exhibit strong diagnostic and problem solving skills. The candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and oral, the ability to work independently as well as within various teams.
Please note: This is not a teaching position.
- Orient students and faculty on equipment in the simulation center and conduct tours as needed in the center.
- Troubleshoot all simulators and peripheral equipment and obtain warranty service and/or on site repair as appropriate.
- Maintain a database for inventory of supplies and perform inventory of supplies.
- Maintain the Center as a clean, safe and operational facility and optimal learning environment following universal precautions and CDC guidelines.
- Manipulate simulator during scenario; perform on the fly troubleshooting; and, provide theatrical support, as needed.
- Provide faculty assistance in running low-definition and high-definition simulations
- Maintain records as appropriate.
- Set up and breakdown lab activities based on program needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in science, computer science, or healthcare field;
- Experience in a lab setting with working with lab equipment, including maintaining, programming, troubleshooting, cleaning and repairing lab equipment;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and selected Mac applications;
- Experience with audio visual equipment and technology including production and editing;
- Exhibit strong diagnostic and problem solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral;
- Ability to work independently as well as within various teams;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience in the healthcare field;
- Experience with patient simulation mannequins;
- CHE certification;
- Patient simulator repair certification.
Full-Time, MCCC Unit Position:
MCCC Title: Special Programs Coordinator
Salary Range: Grade 4 - $65,370.00 - $77,717.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full State benefits package.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Funding: State.
