Payroll Analyst
Job Details
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Compliance, TRS Time and Attendance, the incumbent serves as a payroll, time and attendance, and compliance analyst responsible for supporting campus-wide UCPath pay-related reporting, time and attendance processes, and Tracker/I-9 compliance activities. The position coordinates and participates in the analysis, auditing, troubleshooting, and resolution of payroll and system-related issues; identifies corrective and preventive actions; and supports continuous process improvement to promote accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
The budgeted salary range for this position is: $70,900.00 - $87,500.00. This is a hybrid position. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to UCLA and work on campus at least 2-3 days per week.
Qualifications
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, accurate functional design documents, test scripts, training materials, and informational articles. (Required)
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve system problems, including recommending system modifications or corrective actions. (Required)
- Effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to individuals at various organizational levels. (Required)
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to gather information, assess situations, and develop mutually acceptable solutions. (Required)
- Analytical ability to review information and procedures, define problems or objectives, and formulate logical conclusions with appropriate alternatives. (Required)
- Ability to prioritize work based on the relative importance of responsibilities and deadlines. (Required)
- Ability to manage multiple assignments independently and accurately while meeting deadlines in an environment with frequent interruptions. (Required)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Access, Visio, and Excel. (Required)
- Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information. (Required)
- Ability to stay current with changing university systems, regulations, policies, and procedures. (Required)
- Knowledge of mainframe computer systems and strong attention to detail, including accuracy in working with numbers and complex information. (Required)
- Working knowledge of I9, employment eligibility verification, university payroll, general ledger, staff personnel policies, collective bargaining agreements, and time and attendance procedures. (Required)
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related area and/or equivalent work experience (Required)
