Payroll Examiner 1, Full-time, Permanent

The Payroll Examiner 1 works in the Office of Human Resources, performing the full range of payroll processing tasks and activities.

In order to maintain a welcoming environment for prospective students, students, community members, and visiting university staff, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

Process tax forms, direct deposits, deductions and miscellaneous payments
Review and process time records for temporary hourly and college work study employees
Review and update leave accruals for adjunct faculty
Assist in processing salary transactions for adjunct faculty
Respond to request for employment verifications
Run payroll queries and reports
Provide excellent customer service, including telephone, e-mail or in person inquiries
Actively participate in university activities

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must be reachable for appointment from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list for the title;

Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in this title and eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law;

Work Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:30am - 4:30pm

Work Address: 2 Union Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY

Salary: SG-12 $50,425 - $61,548
