Peak-to-Peak(P2P) Accelerated 3 Year Pathway Program Assessment Director

Job Summary:

The Office of Medical Education (OME) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CUSOM) is seeking an Assessment Director for the Accelerated Three-Year Pathway (A3YP). This innovative program is designed to reimagine medical education through acceleration, integration, and alignment with workforce needs.

The A3YP supports several core goals of the School of Medicine:

  1. Reducing medical student debt
  2. Addressing workforce shortages in critical specialties and communities
  3. Advancing innovation in time-variable and precision medical education
  4. Strengthening the transition from Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) to Graduate Medical Education (GME)

Supervision Received:

This position operates under the Office of Medical Education in the Dean's Office and reports directly to the Associate Dean of Medical Education with dotted line reporting to the Associate Dean of Assessment, Evaluation and Outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment Data Analysis - 25%

  • With support from the Director of the Trek Progress Committee, regularly review and analyze quantitative and qualitative assessment data across courses, clerkships, and longitudinal experiences on a regular basis.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and risk indicators for accelerated pathway students.
  • Collaborate in the development of dashboards and reports to track student performance, progression, and outcomes.
  • Work with AEO to conduct cohort comparisons and predictive analyses to support early intervention strategies.

Academic Progression and Evaluation - 30%

  • Participate in P2P Pathway admissions processes.
  • Lead regular meetings with Pathway Directors and COMPASS Guides to review learner performance, build capacity in data interpretation, and strengthen coaching strategies for student development.
  • Lead periodic review and revision of assessment frameworks for accelerated pathways to ensure alignment with program competencies and learning objectives.
  • Serve as an active member of the Trek Progress Committee for all CUSOM students, providing data-informed insights and contributing to decisions related to student support, remediation, and deceleration.
  • Working with the Director of the Trek Progress Committee, support remediation of P2P students as needed including creating and implementing remediation plans as well as assessing success for progression in the program.
  • Lead hand-off process for all accelerated pathway students, ensuring smooth transition between curricular phases.
  • Partner with P2P Pathway Directors to monitor students' academic and professional progression, using data to inform individualized learning plans and goal setting.
  • Develop process and procedures for UME-GME learning handoffs to ensure smooth transitions and continuation of learning plans.

Evaluation System Design and Continuous Improvement - 30%

  • Contribute to leadership discussions on program outcomes, key metrics, and strategic priorities for the P2P pathways.
  • Participate in ongoing program evaluation, incorporating course feedback and assessment data to inform continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the AEO and P2P teams to enhance evaluation systems and implement data-informed strategies that promote student success and program outcomes.
  • Contribute to a scholarship and research agenda supporting dissemination of P2P outcomes.

General Expectations - 15%

  • Attend and actively engage in regularly scheduled P2P, TPC, UME, and GME meetings.
  • Respond promptly to communications from students, faculty, and program leadership.
  • Engage consistently with School of Medicine information technology platforms and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Oasis, CUSIS).
