Position Summary
This full-time position is supported by a grant from the Substance Use and Mental Health Services Administration. The peer support specialist will be an individual with lived behavioral health service utilization experience plus experience with providing peer support and care management services. Experience working with the criminal justice system preferred.
Education Requirements
Requires experience as a peer support worker and consumer of behavioral health services. Knowledge of local service system, criminal justice system, community resources, and benefits required.
Qualifications:
Competitive applicants will have experience with providing peer support and care management services to individuals living with behavioral health disorders and current or past involvement with the criminal justice system. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Annual Salary Range
$55,000 - $58,000
