Penn Medicine Clinician
Job Description Summary
Provides health care services on a full-time or part-time basis in an owned or affiliated health care entity of Penn Medicine or The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Provides inpatient hospital services as required and fulfills all medico-administrative duties associated with membership on each hospital medical staff of which clinician is a member. May participate in a minimum of 50 hours per year of active and high quality teaching or equivalent service.
The Pediatric Urgent Care Physician will work in a CHOP Urgent Care location(s) to evaluate, treat and manage patients from birth to age 21. The physician is expected to document the medical findings in an electronic medical record (Epic), provide support to patients, families and colleagues, collaborate with other Physicians, nurses, ancillary department staff and Hospital administration. This position will require working Evenings, Weekends and Holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- Doctorate, Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Medical License, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- DEA License, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Medical Board Certification-Pediatrics, The American Board of Pediatrics
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Education
- 0-1 year of work experience of related experience in a specified medical field
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, treat and manage pediatric patients in an Urgent Care setting, including documenting medical findings, treatment plans and follow-up care - 80%
- Attend meetings and participate/lead lectures, simulations and other required training and education - 10%
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows - 5%
- Other duties as assigned - 5%
