People & Culture Business Partner
At the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama the People and Culture Team are looking for two new business partners to join a transforming business dedicated to furthering the future of performing arts.
Based in Swiss Cottage, we are looking for creative & forward-looking People & Culture (P&C) professionals to join a small generalist P&C Team. The successful candidate does not need to be located within the London area, we have flexibility to provide hybrid working, with the ability for candidates to travel to the office as & when necessary.
We are delighted to be entering a significant period of change and development across the business, and within the People & Culture Team, over the next 2 years.

We can honestly say our People & Culture Team have the most exciting environment and we are privileged to work with professionals who fill our days with beautiful singing, dancing and acting amongst other arts-based activities.
We are transforming the way we work, and we are looking for versatile and team orientated candidates that can demonstrate their ability to work within complex existing processes and structures that are difficult to use. We need team members who can work with us in the existing structure and provide confident P&C experience and innovative ideas that will challenge and enhance our existing practices as we move forward. A specific exciting project that we will be embarking on in 2024 is the review & development of a new P&C Database including all processes that feed into this.
Ideally, you will have experience of working within the arts, higher education, public sector body, or have experience of working within a complex business.
We would like to hear from you if you have the following:
- A recognised CIPD qualification and/or equivalent experience
- Experience of advising managers with people issues
- Experience of managing employee relations cases
- Have up to date knowledge of UK employment law legislation
- Excellent and forward-looking IT skills with the ability work remotely whilst keeping a high standard
- Recruitment, selection, on-boarding & contracting
- Training and development
- Payroll, Pay, reward & benefits
- Review and development of processes for new HR database
- Equality, diversity & inclusion
- Knowledge of job evaluation schemes, preferably HERA (the Higher Education Role Analysis system)
You will work closely with the Director of P&C, Head of P&C, Executive Leadership Team, & Heads of Services across the business to ensure the smooth running of P&C operations.
