Job Summary:
Develop and teach math curriculum to high school students during summer enrichment program. Sometimes, in collaboration with subject matter coordinator, be able to develop summer course curriculum in math for high school students.
Math instructors should be able to work with students with varying levels of math knowledge, be able to facilitate hands on math activities and review math skills to prepare students for their upcoming school year.
This position is part-time and a terminal appointment. Expected work will be from June 22, 2026, through July 10, 2026.
Expected schedule will be:
Orientation and Planning: June 22 - 26
PSU 2 Instruction Dates: Mon June 29 – Thu July 2 (4 instructional days)
PSU 3 Instruction Dates: Mon July 6 – Fri July 10 (5 instructional days)
Class Time: 10:00 am – 11:15 am
This position is fully on-site.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
- Develop hands-on activities
- Assists with the development of instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction under the direction of an academic staff or faculty member
- Facilitates classroom and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses including assessment of student performance
- Develop hands-on activities
- Arrange field trips as appropriate

Our precollege program is designed to help students become viable college candidates for UW-System institutions, with an emphasis on UW-Madison. PEOPLE will help college scholars progress toward graduation and ensure that the students’ college experience is enriching; intellectually, socially, personally, and professionally.
Compensation:
The annual salary for the position is $45,000, and will be pro-rated based on FTE and appointment duration.
Required Qualifications:
- One year experience teaching Mathematics
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year teaching experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Certification in high school or secondary math instruction preferred
