Peri-operative Summer 2026 COACH College Program
The opportunity
The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 8-Friday, August 14, 2026. In addition to on-the-job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours/week. Interns will earn $17.50-$21.50/hour.
This role is on-site at 333 Longwood Ave, Boston. Specific work hours will be determined by the supervisor.
What you'll do
- Participate in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment, contributing to the preparation and turnover of patient care areas, inventory management, patient transport, and family escort services within the facility.
- Collaborate closely with members of the healthcare team to support patients and families throughout the perioperative care process.
- Attend a 2-day program orientation and onboarding
- Participate in virtual and in-person workshops and activities

Who you are
- You are an undergraduate college student in good academic standing and will be enrolled in a two-or four-year program for Fall 2026, and you are interested in working in healthcare
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with team members and families, possess excellent organizational abilities, and be capable of independently managing delegated tasks within their scope of responsibility.
Recruitment process
- Internship opportunities: We encourage students to review the posted COACH internship opportunities and to apply to no more than three postings.
- Resume review & interviews: Applications will be reviewed, and screenings and interviews will be scheduled as appropriate. Resumes are required; if you need assistance developing a resume, please engage with your school career center or contact coach@childrens.harvard.edu.
- Offer decision: We will follow up within one week of your interview. Decisions regarding program acceptance will be made in March.
- Onboarding: Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program. This includes:
- Scheduling an appointment during one of our on-site onboarding days
- Obtaining appropriate work permits and documentation, as needed
- Health records
- Proof of Employment Eligibility
- Media release
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
