Pharmacy Practice, Assistant, Associate or Professor
We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our faculty as a 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration. The successful candidate will demonstrate a robust commitment to teaching, research, and service, and may, depending on program's needs, be expected to provide clinical pharmacy services. We look forward to welcoming a dedicated pharmacy educator whose teaching philosophy aligns with the department's mission to promote excellence in pharmacy education and practice and contribute significantly to our academic community.
The position may be structured as teaching-focused or include clinical practice responsibilities at an affiliated practice site. We are particularly seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Internal medicine, including psychiatry, respiratory disorders, infectious diseases, and gastrointestinal conditions
- Community pharmacy
- Pharmacy administration
- Pharmacy law
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Development and delivery of high-quality didactic, lab and/or experiential pharmacy courses
- Mentorship and advisement to pharmacy students
- Participation in departmental and university service activities
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to enhance pharmacy education and practice
Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from an accredited institution
- Licensure/eligibility for licensure, in the State of Connecticut
- Completion of a residency program (PGY1 and/or PGY2) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated potential for scholarly research and publication
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board certification in a pharmacy specialty
- Prior teaching experience in an academic setting
- Experience with innovative teaching methodologies and technology-enhanced learning
The successful candidate will support the School’s mission by delivering high-quality teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum, contributing to curriculum development and assessment, and mentoring students. Candidates with clinical training may maintain a practice site and serve as preceptors for pharmacy students. Faculty are encouraged to engage in scholarship and service activities aligned with their expertise and institutional goals.
