Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the pharmacy technician fills orders for unit doses, pre-packages pharmaceuticals, DEA Controlled substances, floor stock, supplemental medications, emergency kits, night cabinet, and general stock requisitions.

Essential Functions

• Prepares medication orders for an assigned patient population.
• Prepares medication orders for admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Packages and labels medications into unit doses.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels of drugs and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Performs monthly inspections of nursing stations.
