The PharmD program has three objectives:
- to educate skilled pharmacists to serve their communities with competence and compassion and in an ethical manner
- to promote public health by educating pharmacists to provide drug information and education
- to develop skills in pharmacy management, medication distribution and control, and in counseling of patients on medications.
After You Graduate
There are many career pathways for graduates with a PharmD degree. You will find pharmacy graduates working in clinical settings (hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, health systems, long-term care centers), retail settings (community pharmacies), research, academia, regulatory agencies, associations, consulting in the pharmaceutical or insurance industries, pharmaceutical sales, and working for the federal government (armed forces, Federal Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health).

To be eligible for graduate study, you must:
- have earned a bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university
- have a 3.0 GPA over your entire undergraduate career
