We are passionate structural biologists at CEITEC looking for PhD Candidate of ribosomal complexes involved in human translation control
About this position:
Are you passionate about studying human translation control? This is a perfect opportunity for you! Our research project focuses on investigating the structures of ribosomal complexes involved in this fascinating process.
You'll have access to state-of-the-art cryo-EM instruments at our local core facility, available for regular use. Plus, comprehensive training in cryo-EM techniques will be provided to the successful candidate. Our lab has recently secured substantial third-party funding, including an ERC Starting Grant and an EMBO Installation Grant, so we're well-equipped to support your research.
We're seeking a creative, independent, and motivated individual with relevant experience in fields like structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology. If you have a background in structural biology and translation, we especially encourage you to apply.
The ideal candidate profile:
Must-have:
- MSc or equivalent degree (preferably in Life Sciences)
- Strong interest in structural biology
- Experience with structural biology, biochemistry and molecular biology methods is a strong plus as well as programming skills
- Strong English language skills – both spoken and written
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with human cell cultures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivation and a collaborative mindset
