Offer Description
It is hereby announced that, by decision of the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Tomar, dated 25 August 2026, an international competition is now open for a period of 30 days to recruit a PhD holder equivalent to a junior researcher, in accordance with Article 11(1)(a) of Decree-Law No. 57/2016 of 29 August, under a fixed-term employment contract in the civil service, for a period of 36 (thirty-six) months, with a view to filling a post in the key scientific areas of the R&D unit, the Centre for Technology, Restoration and Arts Enhancement (TECNH&ART). The contract resulting from this call for applications is funded exclusively through the programme agreement signed between the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Polytechnic University of Tomar (IPT), supported by national funds allocated in the FCT budget and carried out within the TECNH&ART Research Unit. The aim of the call is to strengthen TECNH&ART’s research capacity; the role therefore involves carrying out scientific research activities in the area(s) of the Enhancement of Artistic and Cultural Heritage, as well as Heritage Conservation and related fields, linked to the main research areas of the TECNH&ART Research Unit, with the primary aim of conducting research in the fields of Creative Conservation and Studies of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Proficiency in English is also a priority. The research and development will be carried out under programme contract UID/05488/2025. This position will end when this programme contract expires.
