- The Department at University of Cape Town prepares candidates for the Master of Science in Engineering in Electrical Engineering and for the Doctor of Philosophy.
Programme Structure
Curriculum:
- Most research groups hold regular internal seminars and workshops. These serve to extend the awareness of current research projects to all the postgraduate students in a group.
- Students also gain practice in preparing presentations of their work at conferences and to research clients.
- Research groups provide the leadership and facilities for training postgraduate students. They also undertake research contracts in collaboration with industry.
- Research funding is received from government agencies like the National Research Foundation, the Technology Innovation Agency, CSIR, and dti’s THRIP programme, as well as under research contracts with industry.
