Position Overview

The Department of Politics and Public Administration at TMU invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty (LTF) position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Canadian Politics. This position focuses exclusively on teaching and service duties, contributing to undergraduate and graduate programs while promoting an inclusive, equitable, and collegial environment.

The successful candidate will:

• Teach, mentor, and supervise students, fostering diversity in the field of Canadian politics.
• Contribute to curriculum development, experiential learning, and innovative pedagogy.
• Engage in departmental and university service activities, promoting collegiality and academic community.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Political Science or a closely related field by the appointment date. ABD candidates near completion may also be considered.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including:
  • Teaching philosophy statement
  • Course and curriculum development experience
  • Effective use of classroom technology and experiential learning
  • Teaching evaluations, awards, or other evidence of pedagogical effectiveness
• Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in teaching and service.
• Ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the department and university.

Eligibility Notes

• LTF appointments at TMU may not exceed a combined total of four years.
• Applicants with prior TMU (formerly Ryerson University) LTF appointments should verify eligibility.
