Offer Description
The Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute and The School of Biomedical Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong are seeking motivated PhD candidates/Research Assistants to join the research team of Prof. Yingjun Liu. The focuses of the laboratory include (1) understanding the mechanisms of brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases; (2) developing anti-brain-aging and neuroprotective interventions; and (3) advancing CRISPR and organotypic slice culture-based brain research technologies.
The ideal candidates should have (1) a Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant discipline (2) excellent communication and teamwork skills; (3) proficiency in written and spoken English; (4) a strong command of one or more of the following areas: CRISPR technology, AAV engineering/production, animal models, primary cell/tissue culturing, high-throughput in vivo/in vitro genetic/pharmacological screening, bulk/single-cell DNA/RNA sequencing, computational biology.
