Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure?: No
Offer Description
Operating at the interface of single-molecule biophysics and synthetic biology, Ferdinand’s lab drives innovation in bottom-up artificial cell research. His team leverages microfluidic platforms and high-resolution fluorescence microscopy to build programmable, on-chip DNA systems. By engineering life at the nanoscale through a synthesis of physics, chemistry, and biology, the lab seeks to understand basic biological processes and create novel solutions in nanobiotechnology and medicine. Are you excited by the idea of building biology from the bottom up? Do you love tinkering with optics, coding late into the night, microfabrication, or thinking about how biomolecules work as a collective? We’re a collaborative group of scientists (engineering, biology, chemistry, and physics) pushing the frontiers of bottom-up synthetic biology and single-molecule biophysics, and we’re looking for curious, driven, and creative minds to join us. Send an email to Ferdinand or come by our lab for a tour; we will open this September.
