The CRM (www.crm.cat) is an independent research centre in the CERCA network since 2008, with the purpose of promoting both advanced training and research in all areas of mathematics, in collaboration with universities and other research institutions in Catalonia. CRM’s mission includes transferring knowledge based on the centre's research to society and aiming at having societal impact.
Research at CRM covers a wide spectrum of fields, from the most fundamental areas (algebra/number theory/geometry/topology, analysis and PDEs, combinatorics and dynamical systems) to applied mathematics (in the fields of biomedicine, climate change mitigation and adaptation and natural hazards).
The Computational Neuroscience — Vidaurre group at the CRM is looking for a PhD student Predoctoral Grant (FPI Fellowship) to join the project “The perceptual space of differences: how people differ in the way the perceive the world”. Project reference code PID2025-174190NB-I00 financed by MICIU /AEI /10.13039/501100011033)
TASKS
- Develop machine learning generative models of EEG brain response, and inference methods to fit them from real EEG data
- Analyse existing EEG data sets, from preprocessing to the application of the model
- Potentially collect pilot EEG data

- General theoretical and practical knowledge in machine learning
- Experience in EEG analysis

Eligibility criteria
Criterion 1. Candidate’s academic and/or scientific and technical track record (up to 50 points).
- Scientific and technical contributions (up to 45 points).
- Mobility and internationalisation (up to 5 points).
Criterion 2. Suitability of the candidate for the research activities to be carried out (up to 50 points).
