Physical Therapy Assistant Program Instructor
The Physical Therapy Assistant Program Instructor is a full-time, nine-month academic year, tenure-track appointment with the opportunity for summer assignment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: development of the clinical education component and clinical experiences; teaching assigned theory and clinical courses; develop clinical experiences for students; serve as liaison between clinical instructors, agency staff, and students; supervise clinical practicum; evaluate and counsel students; evaluate clinical aspects of the program; and participate in assessment activities and online teaching. Local travel to healthcare and other related sites is required. Current college assignment is Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, IL.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant or physical therapist program with Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Other requirements are: current PT or PTA license/certification; minimum of 3 years, full-time, post licensure experience that includes a minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience; clinical teaching and/or clinical coordination experience; able to meet the faculty requirements as stated in the Evaluative Criteria for the Accreditation of Physical Therapist Assistant Programs.
