Job Summary

The Division of Cardiology is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work on our Cardiac Electrophysiology team. The position is primarily outpatient-based, with a focus on our Redwood and Redstone community clinic locations. There may also be participation in outreach clinics involved. In this position, the individual will be involved with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, fellows, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses and other staff to coordinate the care of patients with cardiac arrhythmias, pacemakers and defibrillators. Responsibilities

• Assess the physical condition of patients by performing physical examinations and obtaining medical histories.
• Formulate a medical plan based on the patient's condition.
• Consult with physician(s) regarding patient health care plans and treatment.
• Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
• Performs selected procedures for therapeutic and/or diagnostic reasons within the scope of practice.
• Initiates and/or recommends medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatment and procedures in accordance with approved policy.
• Complies with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiates and maintains required records and legal documents.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Educates patients regarding medical conditions and promotes health maintenance.
• Evaluates, plans, implements, and re-evaluates the care of individuals requiring emergency measures.

Minimum Qualifications

Required: Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah. Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Preferred: Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
