Physician Assistant Program Director

Westfield State University is seeking a Program Director for its Physician Assistant Program. This is a full-time, tenure-track position as an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences.

General Statement of Duties: The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration and quality of the PA Program, including ensuring compliance with ARC-PA accreditation standards, overseeing curriculum development and evaluation, managing budgets and operations, supervising faculty and staff, supporting student advisement, and maintaining clinical site relationships.

• Administrative Leadership: Direct daily operations, manage budgets, lead meetings, and monitor student advising.
• Curriculum & Instruction: Develop and maintain curriculum, evaluate course effectiveness, provide instruction, and support student remediation.
• Faculty & Staff Oversight: Assign duties, supervise and evaluate personnel, lead hiring, and encourage scholarship.
• Accreditation & Compliance: Manage ARC-PA accreditation, serve as liaison, oversee self-study, and prepare for site visits.
• Clinical & External Relations: Oversee clinical rotations, recruit preceptors, and ensure student performance benchmarks.
• Service & Scholarship: Represent the program in forums, participate in leadership activities, serve on committees, and attend conferences.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited PA Program, Master’s degree or higher, current NCCPA certification, eligibility for MA licensure, at least three years of higher education experience, knowledge of ARC-PA standards, strong skills in leadership and communication, commitment to diversity, and a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Salary: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a summer stipend.
