Physician Specialist OnCall
Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Physician Specialist in the Neurology – Pediactrics Department within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
The on call Physician participates in all activities to the satisfaction of the Department Chair and/or Division Chief. Provides thoracic procedures and patient care for all patients requiring these services and provide call coverage to University Hospital.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provide one, 24-hour on-call week (168 hours) per month; or approximately 40 hours between NBI and UH.
- Evaluates and manages patients with complex medical problems.
- Provides direct clinical care to patients.
- Develops, implements and evaluates plans of treatment.
- Consults with other attending physicians regarding patient care.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Medical Degree required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing, sitting, walking, talking, and hearing.
- Must be able to lift or exert force up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office and clinical/patient environment.
- Moderate noise.
- Works in a hospital or doctor's office setting with patients.
