As the University's lead Platform Architect, you'll provide strategic leadership and accountability for Smart Campus and related enterprise platforms. You'll define the long-term architectural vision, ensuring alignment with institutional strategy and sustainability priorities. This role offers you the opportunity to represent the University externally, shaping technology adoption beyond the institution and driving impactful change in the sector.Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead Strategic Planning and Governance: Develop and deploy enterprise platform architectures, ensuring alignment with institutional goals
- Provide Domain Expertise: Guide the selection and usage of AWS IaaS and PaaS products for Smart Campus delivery
- Innovate Platform Architecture: Evolve architecture to optimise scalability, availability, and minimise costs using emerging technologies
- Drive Technical Leadership: Serve as the University's decision-maker on platform architecture, engaging with leadership to guide technology direction
You may be a great fit if:
You will have extensive experience in enterprise-scale architecture leadership, including strategic technology direction, governance frameworks, and executive decision-making, coupled with a strong background in cloud-based solutions and Agile environments.You may also:
- Have 5+ years of experience in enterprise-scale architecture leadership.
- Possess demonstrable knowledge and experience with AWS products and services
- Be skilled in problem-solving and translating product definitions into technical solutions
- Have experience leading teams in a CI/CD environment focused on IaC and automated deployments
- Be adept at engaging with stakeholders to ensure technical implementations align with requirements
