General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management is accepting applications for a Plumber Steamfitter Senior to perform Master level technical tasks in plumbing, gas, fire sprinkler, and steamfitting trades. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participates as a member of a team providing plumbing, steam, and other trade services to complete assigned projects
• Services, maintains, inspects, and repairs plumbing, steam, fire sprinkler, food service, heating, and other equipment as assigned
• Installs plumbing, steam, or other equipment as assigned. Installation may include design and/or specification elements
• Assignments are completed in a timely and correct manner according to code, policy, and regulations
• Records and provides information as requested
• Communicates important information to the supervisor or other designated individuals

Qualifications:

Required:
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with commercial, institutional, and residential plumbing, heating, steam equipment, fire sprinklers, food service equipment, welding, soldering, and plumbing code
Master level plumbing/steam fitting skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Skilled in dealing with a wide assortment of personalities, both directly and indirectly
Master plumber certification required within 2 years of hire
Backflow certification is required within 2 years of hire
A Valid Driver's License
