Job description:
Work in research project The Epistemic Dimension of Clerical Child Sexual Abuse, led by Prof. Dorota Hall, funded by the National Science Center, Poland (DEC-2025/59/B/HS2/00826).
The tasks of the person employed in the post-doctoral position will include:
- Collecting media content and conducting epistemic injustice-focused analysis of media discourse on clerical child sexual abuse in Poland and Scotland;
- Conducting and analyzing interviews with journalists and media specialists involved in producing this content;
- Supporting the Principal Investigator in refining the project’s theoretical framework and in desk research (victim-survivor testimonies, church and state documents, records of court cases, activist publications in Poland and Scotland);
- Drafting interim research reports and academic articles;
- Presenting research results at academic conferences;
- Communicating research to broader audiences through the project website, popular media publications, and the co-authorship of an accessible public report in Polish and English;
- Contributing to administrative and organizational work related to the assigned tasks, including participation in regular project team meetings (with options for remote attendance in most cases).

- Meeting requirements set forth by the funding agency: (a) PhD received no earlier than January 1, 2024 (exceptions apply in case of longer sick leaves and parental leaves); (b) PhD received from an academic institution other than the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (OR at least a 9-months long research stay at an academic institution abroad during or after PhD studies).

The selection process will consist of two stages. In the first stage, the Recruitment Committee will evaluate candidates based on their submitted documents. The highest-rated candidates will be invited to an interview for the second stage. The interviews will be held between September 14 and 18, 2026, at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, or remotely in justified cases. Results will be announced by September 22, 2026.
