Post-Doctoral Associate - Cardiovascular
About the Job
Position available in the laboratory and research program of Dr. Lin Yee Chen at the University of Minnesota Lillehei Heart Institute and Cardiovascular Division to conduct cardiovascular epidemiology/clinical research, specifically to study the risk factors and health outcomes of arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation and atrial myopathy.
Job Responsibilities
- 70%: You will be responsible for implementing project activities and conducting data analyses. You will be expected to collaborate with other team members and investigators working with Dr. Chen in regard to project implementation and data analysis.
- 15%: You will be expected to prepare manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and present at national/international scientific meetings.
- 15%: You will also be expected to assist with research grant submissions (NIIH, AHA, industry, etc.)
Detailed documentation of analytical procedures and data is expected. You are expected to participate in lab/project meetings. Specifically, on a regular basis, you will be required to present independent review of relevant scientific literature for ongoing projects, data analysis results, and discussions of possible new approaches with team members and the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- A PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or Computer Science, or related discipline
- Highly qualified and motivated investigator (PhD, or MD/PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in statistical methods and analysis using SAS, R, or STATA.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $62,232 - $75,564: Pay is determined by NIH Postdoc levels of education and experience
